Google Consultancy

All Net Visibility customers and prospects want to be “number one” on Google. As a result, we are often referred to as a Google consultancy. Google describes itself as “a fully automated search engine, which employs robots known as 'spiders' to crawl the web on a monthly basis and find sites for inclusion in the Google index.”

Google does not accept payment for inclusion within its index, nor for improving the rank of sites in its results.

Our Google consultancy service follows a series of proven techniques. The consultancy process is based on the following principles recommended by Google themselves:

  • Make pages for users, not for search engines. Don't deceive your users, or present different content to search engines than you display to users.
  • Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
  • Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web as your own ranking may be affected adversely by those links.
  • Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our terms of service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google.

The principles outlined by Google, mirror the standard approaches for our main search engine consultancy. This starts with a thorough website health check to spot any errors with the code that may be holding you back. Once we have checked your code we then offer a full consultation on how you can improve your current search engine ranking along with tips on the current search engine algorithms employed.

Google regularly makes updates to what it requires from a website in order for it to rank well. Sometimes this can have catastrophic effects for a very large number of websites and a vast number of pages, many of which had ranked at or near the top of the results for a very long time, simply disappear from the results. Customers who have taken Google consultancy from Net Visibility have not experienced these problems. Build a website correctly in the first place and it is unlikely that you will have problems in the future.

Some of our customers initially ask “why do I need a Google consultant. Can’t I do this myself?” Like all marketing activities the answer is “you can”.

Initially, you will have to conduct research on the latest Google algorithms. After that, you will need to create pages which are optimised for Google and the other search engines. Then, you will need to submit the pages and wait for a few weeks to let the search engines add your site to their databases. After that, you will need to check how your site is doing in each of the search engines. If you find that your site has not attained the top rankings that you had hoped for, you will have to repeat the whole process all over again.

The problem is often easier if you employ the services of a partner who is in constant contact with Google, shares ideas with them and lives and breathes search anomalies. Lets call that partner a Google consultancy.
